I wanted to do justice to the place.
In fairness, I got along well with my hosts, who didn't want me to spend a single cent, so my only expense were the airline tickets. I got to dine with the governor and his extended family, who are first cousins of my hosts. Swam in the hot springs pools, where I felt like being stewed and simmered. I couldn't stand the hot springs sulfur pools. They looked sludgy and the stink was horrifying.
