I grow everything outside under a lathe house on the south side of the house and on trees. I would say 3/4 of them are in hanging baskets. Fortunately our prevailing winds are from the north so they are protected most of the time, if a strong wind or storms are called for I put the big guys down on the ground and move the smaller ones closer to the house. I move the blooming chids into the patio so the rain doesn't beat them up. I have to have a pest and fungus control schedule depending on the season. Everyone comes in ( except for the ones on the trees) for cold weather and hurricanes.
