Spathoglottis are deciduous or semi-deciduous so I guess it is normal for the leaves to become brown and fall out.
This being said, mine had the exact same symptoms on its leaves and I wind up getting rid of it because the new growths were starting to also look like that, which scared me and made me think it was more serious.
I may have been wrong but I didn't want to take any chances!
