This being said, mine had the exact same symptoms on its leaves and I wind up getting rid of it because the new growths were starting to also look like that, which scared me and made me think it was more serious.
I may have been wrong but I didn't want to take any chances!

i actually didnt know they were deciduous or semi, but it confirmes my observation even more.
its just the way they grow, also younger shoots sometimes turn brown but 2 weeks later new growths shows, so im not worried with this sturdy type of orchids.
i saw a video ones where the guy said one of his relatives drove over a plant, and the plant continued to grow as nothing ever happend.

so, would you give this species another chance???
