Den burana gold

This is my den burana gold and I just don't get her. Every time a new growth comes I lose it. This is what happens to it:





To me it seem like wither but the thing is that I water it when the medium drys up (like once a week).

Anyway I took a shot of the root system so you guys can see that is not that bad (well to me it seem not that bad).



I recently changed the medium to see if that helped. But the "event" keeps repeating itself. As you can see in the photos, I have lost a couple. What I do I cut them and put cinnamon on it.

Elissa, can you tell us what are your growing conditions? I have mine outside - hot, humid, lots of sun (indirect), good air movement and some times water... Is overwatering and less light a possibility for yours not to grow well?!

Thanks for the response... Temp= 83-92 F never lower than 80 or higher than 96. Hum= 80% average. I grow them in a balcony. Its got good air movement or I think so. No direct sun. I water only when the medium drys up and I don't mist. I thought that maybe it was wither so I make a good effort not to wet the leaves when I water.

Hi Elissa,

I've a burana jade and mine is in similar shape. The reason I think was my wife accidentally watered it unintentionally in the evening (since it is co-located with other garden plants). The next day I saw that the crown seemed to have rotted. I suspect similar issue looking at the crown. Ensure that it is not watered in the evenings and no water settles in the crown. That is what I'm doing and waiting for a new pseudobulb to pop-up.

Use peroxide instead of cinnamon. Also if the temps are that high I would think it needs more water (sometimes I have to water mine 3-4 times a week). I would pour some peroxide in the pot and consider a bit more water. You have it in bark mix so the drainage is good and your plant may use some more water. Wishing you good luck with it!
