This is a Vanda and Phal relative. Nice orange flowers, which have a strong scent of burnt rubber at night. I'll try to get a close-up in the next couple of days.

The entire plant is about 2" across.

Either that or it just feels the need for speed. I keep trying to tell it, "If you get caught just once your insurance rates will go through the roof," but does it listen? No. Just wait until it has kids, THEN it'll understand what I went through for it.

Anyhow. Retook the photo. Bear in mind that the treefern plaque it's on is about 1 1/2" across. You can also see that it has little tiny nectar spurs, although you may need the super close-up view to see them.

Yup, that is cute. Another scent I find interesting is the burning plastic one. I've noticed that on a few orchid and non orchid things. Why burning plastic?

Pretty cool, Sue. And I see that the flowers really are orange, and not "bronze," always a plus in my book.....
