Hi everyone. I've been MIA for much of the summer. This is why... I rescued a racehorse this spring. Skylar (formerly "He's a Tiger Too") came home with me in May, underweight, stressed and burned out, with ulcers and with a skin problem. Anyway, he's four years old, super sweet, kind and gentle, and incredibly smart. His great grandfather is Secretariat and he has Bold Ruler and Northern Dancer in his pedigree. I've been riding him all season, and training him to be a versatile saddle horse -- perhaps we will be doing some eventing one day. The ulcers have cleared up, his coat has improved, he's gained weight, and is starting to gain some muscle tone... These are before and after photos -- the top two were taken at the track in April, the bottom two in late September. He's hard to photograph because he always wants to have his muzzle on my shoulder! :-)
