I bought my first two Masd but I'm not sure if I'm doing things right. I've just moved them to sphag to keep them more moist. Do they look okay to you seasoned Masd growers?

They may be over-potted, Richard. I only grow one masd but it does great being in a tiny pot and very root bound. Hopefully some of the masd growers will see this and be able to give you some advice.

I have 2 masd as well. I keep them in very small pots. I am a novice but I wonder if that sphagnum is a bit too damp... looks more than just moist.
Hey,
The Plants look great... I agree that they might be a bit over potted. I have been growing mine in live moss in net pots and they have been quite happy.
Now that the rain has returned to Vancouver my Masdevallias are starting to take off again. Some sulked a bit in the summer (ignea, trifurcata).
The Fraser Valley Orchid Show was great!!! I got a five growth Neo. "Kuro Shinyu Black Pearl"and a few Madevallias (ignea, coccinea var. alba, tovarensis, and polysticta).
