I leave catts out almost all year long, even when it rains. I have had rot problem lately because of frequent rain and high humidity. But the rot problem is more for catts that are grown on shelf, not ones that are hanging from tree.
We don't get that many cold nights in Houston. When night temp drops below 40, I try to bring them into a covered shelf, or inside for a day or two.
