Hello everyone. Nice to find this place. Another place to talk about orchids. Just a little about me. I have been growing orchids for about 2 years now, and just fell in love with them. I was bit by the orchid bug pretty bad. He He. No biggie I'm running with it and hope to open an orchids nursery sometime in the future. Normaly I know a little bit about the orchid before I purchase one, but about 2 weeks ago while at Carter and Holmes I purchased Neofinetia Falcata 'Amami Island' X self. Well all the culture sheets I have been reading say that its an intermediate to cool grower. Well, would she be ok out in my GH? I live in GA and the temps outside get up to 100 easily. I have 3 fans that stay on all the time, and three fans that come on when the temp reaches 85 degrees. One of those fans is an exhaust fan. The other say when it was sunny it only got up to 98 in the GH, but the temps outside were only about 85 too. I will be adding 50% shadecloth as soon as it stops raining. THats should help out alot, but I still neet to know if this is something I should keep in the house or would she be ok out in the GH? Atfirst I was disapointed because its a miniature sized plant. I just grabbed it at the last minute when I found out Rothchildianthum seedling I had was 30 bucks. I know thats cheap, but I already had 7 other plants so I put it back and picked up 2 other plants. One was the Neo. well I just thought it was a seedling and would gro. Well, I have seen some pics on this board that made me change my mind. I would love to keep her, but just need to know if she will be ok in my conditions. Thanks everyone.
