Hello,
I bought it as ascocentrum miniatum, but I have doubts...
It does look a little redder than I thought miniatum is. Is the photo representing the color accurately?
It also seems like larger blooms, but it could be that this is a close up shot. I was comparing it to others posted on the forum.
Cheers,

It is not Ascocentrum miniatum but an ascocenda - possibly a miniatum cross judging by the closely packed flowers.
lovely orchid!
i would also tend to an hybrid, seeing the size and deep red.
Hi Ron,
You have been "ripped off," that plant is undoubtedly a hybrid. The true Ascocentrum miniatum is endemic to Java. In the Philippines we have Ascocentrum aurantiacum subsp. philippinense, which seems to be found throughout the islands. This subspecies is endemic to the Philippines.

Nope the flowers are too big for it to be an ascocentrum, I agree that it is a hybrid. So, the name of my plant is: Ascocentrum aurantiacum subsp. philippinense, isn't it?
I'd look for ascocenda. Sorry that you got ripped off, happened to me while i was starting
with this hobby.
