I just love these. This is one flower I never tire of looking at or sniffing. Yours looks very happy. I just noticed that my little one is forming it's 1st keiki.

Wow!, This is an introduction to the genus for me and I love it! It reminds me of the lips of terrestrial Ophrys which mimic bees. This is defnitely one to add to the wishlist! Thanks Gin.
Cheers
Tim
As Kev mentioned it smells good .and is not hard to grow , it has fine roots , some people grow them in pots , mine came that way, but the watering is harder for me to gauge . Hope you get onethey are in bloom almost all the time .Glad you like it . Gin
I love this. I've not heard of it before, but think I'll put it on my list. I'm wondering what light levels it needs. Can someone post this? Thanks for putting this one up.

I just thought of something. I've heard that not that many people know about this one. We do because of the 'other place' we hang out. Hard to believe, but maybe it's true.

Who hangs out elsewhere? They out to be strung out for the yellow bellied varmints they are!
Nice Gin! I must confess, I don't have one. I need to trade for one. Well, I need to mail out current trades then trade for one.
Most of the posts on the world of Disney site are from people that have killed them . Root Rot ,another one is the Hwra??? sp Lava Burst . Matt ..mine is under a 2 tube 40 watt each tube shop light it gets a little east bright natural light . Mikeare you saying there is a plant you don't have , what is the plant count now ? lolol Gin
A very cool plant/genus! Can you tell any more about them?
Julie
I got one of these for Christmas 'cause my Mom LOVES me.![]()
Mine is still in the pot it came in and putting out it's very first spike. I grow it in my tank-turned-orchid-hut, moist bark sitting in it's pot inside another pot that has moist pumice at the bottom, low light and medium overall humidity. It does not yet have multiple growths like yours and I can't wait until it does! Gin, I love your suet-cage set up and would like to know more about how you are keeping that cage. In a gh, window sill environment, grow porch? Mine looks happy and is growing new leaves and now spiking but if I can make sure it grows up gorgeous like yours I would like to know how!
There is good info on this species out there in several places, including Jay Pfal's species site. Many sites recommend warm, moist & humid, medium light to shaded, and mounted for best results.
Another nice thing about this one is that a blooming size plant doesn't cost a fortune. Of course, blooming size is pretty miniscule, but for those looking for easy fun mini's, this one is on the top of my list.
