Little help about Cattleya

How does it look?
I have it about a year. A month ago I noticed that the leaves and bulbs look a little bit dried. Well, I didn’t notice it at the first place and I didn’t react Root is absolutely dried. I literally waited her to get dried between watering. What do you suggest? Shall I get it back to substrate for orchids or you have some other suggestion because it has no healthy root?

Hi I have had some cats that were simular to this in condition. I found this forum and the info needed to revive them. What I did was to repot into peat(I used new Zealand peat that I had available) water lightly and put into a bag. Just watch the wetness and watch for new roots and any changes. I put the bagged plant into a warm filtered sunny window(east)I revived 5 plants now. I made use of my south window the most. It is also in my bathroom and has filtered sun. Some of them I was able to use my greenhouse to help with this. You may have to strap it into the pot with the peat. I used a green plastic coated twist tie on a roll that you can cut to length to strap the bad ones in. Some of the posts here said to dip in a rooting hormone. I didn't have a rooting hormone to use. It worked without. Good luck... Let me know how they are doing.

I have rooting hormone so I'm gonna use it. Also I have free space on the south window. I'll give you some pictures as soon as I see some changes.

Can I put cattleya into plastic bag without pot, sprinkle it ( must be a beter expression for that ) when it's needed, so I can see if it changes or you think that's better to keep it in pot with peat?

If you don't use a pot wrap the peat around the base of the plant where the roots should be. That will give the roots something to grow into and the plant will also have a source of moisture. When I saved my plants I did also place the pot on a pebble tray in the bag so that the plant would have a constant supply of moisture. The pot gave the plant stability so that the new roots could form and not be disturbed. Humidity is the key.When I saw that the plant was fully hydrated again I checked it carefully for roots. I then left it in the pot for a little while still on the pebble tray. I then repotted when everything was doing well. I hope this helps.

No more advice than what people have already suggested, but cattleyas are incredibly tough, so I can offer encouragement. I'd expect to lose one or more pseudobulbs, because it'll use up the food stored in them to make new roots, but that's what they're there for. Enough light and a good treatment for the rooting area, either water culture or the bag technique, should give it an excellent chance.
