wow, very beautiful and cute! This is a Cypripedium I haven't seen yet. It looks a lot like Cypripedium arietinum in North America.
I noticed that you are in Guangzhou. It is fairly hot there, how are you keeping this cool growing orchid? Please share with me your pot culture and cultivation techniques.
I am interested because I am attempting some cypripediums indoors. I do grow some in my garden where it snows, but indoors is different. (I am getting a Cypripedium japonicum, but it is too cold in Canada for outdoors cultivation, so it will be indoors). Thanks!
I just visited Guangzhou and it is the most beautiful province in China

you are right Fren, Guangzhou is one of the most beautiful cities in China. Have you visited Xiamian island?
Hi Fren,
thanks for your reply and your praising to Guangzhou! I got it only for three months. I have more than 30 species of Masd..I keep them with an air conditioned cabinet sealed with glass. The next summer it will live here with those Masd..Now the temperature is good for cool growing orchids.
Hi Fren and lanhua,
next time when you come here I 'd like to go to mountains of Guangdong with you to see orchids there and visit orchid market.I think you will like it.
I have to travel back to Guangzhou again, as I did not visit many places like Xiamian Island. Guangzhou was my last stop in China (I started in Beijing and went down) and we were tired at the end of the trip. But Guangzhou was more beautiful, and the food the best.
I stayed at Aiqin Hotel near Haizhu square. We went to the Jade market, Beijing Road, Guangdong Folk Arts Museum, boat ride under Pearl River bridge, Yuexiu Park, Zhenhai Tower, and various shopping centers.
My mother grew up in Guangzhou and my father in the villiage near it, so I do speak Cantonese. But I am very Canadian. It is hard for me because I cannot read Chinese.
Thank-you for the offer Zuoxin lui!! I think many of us would enjoy seeing the orchid in their native habitatsPlease do keep in touch with me. I hope to visit Guangdong again
Great looking slipper!! I love seeing these.
Cheers,
