What is your fertilizer routine? Old leaves do turn light brown and dry out. black on the leaves is more likely a burn from sun? Although, if water from misting or watering them sits on the leaves, rot can start. Do you have a fan blowing directly over the cymbidium's leaves?

could it be fertilizer? I give a weak mix of it every watering which is once a day. i keep the plant against the south facing wall with a east facing window too its left 10 ft away.
