are you sure it's a fungus rot?

i've had good results conquering bacterial rot with 3% hydrogen peroxide (the kind you buy at the drug store) poured directly over the plant.

that is now the way i test anything that starts to look suspicious, if it fizzes then it's bacterial. if it doesn't fizz, then i'm in trouble. i have some funginex at home, but i don't know if that's even safe to use on orchids (it's for black spot on roses apparently)? i'm also completely clueless as to dosage for that stuff too.

in short, i hope your problem is really bacterial and you can solve it with some judiciously applied peroxide!
