Hi! I'm new to the forums and orchids in general! My husband and I picked up a Phal (thank goodness for abbreviations) last month on Valentines. It had two blooms at the time and signs of an up and coming bloom. A month later and it is now sporting 8 blooms with no signs of stopping! Good news in a way except that the pot it came in can no longer support the plant's top heavy weight.
I've read quite a bit about orchids over the past month and this morning I found this website! I understand the methods of re-potting my plant. However, my plant is in full bloom (the worst time to re-pot). But, I fear that a plant that constantly falls over won't stay healthy for long.
Should I re-plant so it can continue to grow in size or leave it be? If the blooming season is several months... is re-potting my only option for keeping her upright?
Sorry for being so wordy, I don't want to endanger my beautiful plant but I'm tired of picking her up off of the floor =( I'd appreciate any advice on what to do!
Thank you!!
-Crystal
