Hi Shooting Star...I mount my orchids on tree fern also. the only thing that I do different is that I put a tiny bit of spag. moss in back, and a little more on the front, to keep some moisture in the roots. I believe that if you put a little moss ( attach firmly around a few of the roots ) you will see a difference in a few weeks. Keep the moss slightly moist...I mist mine when I notice that the moss is almost dry. Hope this helps...works for me! Betty in Texas
