    Default Rescued Phal.

This is my latest rescue Phal. Another NOID but it looks like Phal Maki
Watanabe. Whatever its name is, (if it has a name) I like the pastel purple blush . First rebloom for me.

Thank you all, I'm glad you like it.

Louis, actually I not really happy with the way the flowers are lined up I would be happier if they are further apart. But maybe I'm asking for too much .

i'm kinda trying to peek around
the edges of the lower petals,
because your 'blush' phal appears similar to mine
(although mine has a dark lip instead of the yellow).
i think one of the neatest features is the pointillist-like
spotting on those two lower 'outside' petals.
you know, the ones that (with the dorsal) protect the bud while it's developing?
yeah, right on the inside of those,
the speckling is an interesting contrast
to the smooth shade and fading of the 'blush' zone.

While the spacing is going to be partially genetic, it's also somewhat controllable. When the spike is several inches tall, before the buds form, move the plant into dimmer light. The spike will grow longer reaching for the light source, and the buds will form farther apart along the tip.

Lol, Ennui! What a sharp pair of eyes you have! I wouldn't have noticed those spots if you didn't mentioned it. You are right, there are spots at the base of the lateral sepals ( I have to use magnifying glass, believe me) background with very light green.

Ah! so thats the trick, before the buds form. I did move the plant a bit further from the window but I only succeeded in making the flowers face in one direction .

Thanks for the tips, Louis .
