Sympodial Orchid Identification

Hello! I received this orchid from a friend in Florida and I can't identify it. It is sympodial, with just 2 leaves on each growth. Other than that, it closely resembles a mini phalenopsis. The leaves range from 2-5" across and the flower isn't quite 2" across. Can anyone tell me what it is?

It's a multiflora (aka "mini") Phalaenopsis. The additional growths are basal keikis. As far as a specific hybrid name, that would be impossible to know since so many are similar.

Thanks, Susan! That makes perfect sense. Is it best to leave the keiki's with the main plant or should I separate them?

I generally leave them unless there is a reason to separate them. Last year I did have a Phal. mannii that had a basal keiki that was getting squashed by a larger growth. Since it had its own root system I removed it and it established itself quite well.

Agreed, BD, that would make me very happy, too! Along with this plant, I received a couple of dendrobiums and what appear to be some oncidiums. Time will tell! I do love an orchid surprise.
