Hey - so, I read all the pertinant threads previous to this and still felt I needed to ask.
What does everyone use and rely on for great fertilzing?
I have three in my possession for orchids:
Two Grow More's - purchased on sale, when I had one plant! I have Urea Free 20-10-20 which I've used for the Paph's, Phrag's and Phals. And, I have a 20-20-20 that I do not believe is Urea free which they recommend for the Catts, Dends, and Vandas - though it is called "general purpose" which I do not believe since it is not urea free!
Finally I have Grow-n-Thrive, which is what the vendor I have purchased the majority of my plants from uses in their greenhouse. I just got this maybe 3 weeks ago and have been using it. It is 8-10-8.
Everything gets fertilzed weakly, weekly, unless I am out of distilled water, in which case they get a week off. This happened recently and I know it is good to take a week or two off every now and then to flush out salts. I generally use 1/4 tsp. per gallon for each of these.
So, I'd be curious to hear your thoughts! Is there such a thing as "general purpose" for orchids, or would I be better off with something else for say, paphs and phrags? Also, let me know if you think NONE of these are adequate as I am heading to the nursery tomorrow and would pick something else up at that time if necessary.
Thank you all as always!![]()
