Blc. Fantasy Maker From 1 to 16, I divided it

It's Blc. Fantasy Maker 'Powder Puff'. It needed it badly! It really took some untwisting and lots of cuts. From a 12 inch pot to 16 smaller ones. 7 front leads and 9 back bulb divisions. Most with 3-4 pseudobulbs. I'll sell the extras this fall at our sale.

Yeah some of these catts can grow quite large when left alone.
One of the drawbacks of a crowded catt is that each new pseudobulb ends up being very long and contorted as it tries to get on top of the older leaves to get more light.
Dividing it is a good approach.
If you want to keep a large catt as a specimen, then culling some of the old pseudobulbs would be the way to go to open up the inside.

What made you divide it into so many pieces? I prefer specimen sized-plants in theory (in practice most of mine are not that big) Just curious. Looks incredibly healthy btw.

It was just so huge. It wasn't displaying the flowers well anymore and was over the edge of the pot. I just decided it was time.
