My little orchid babies are doing great!

cool, they are probably getting to much light thats probably what cause the change of color in the leaves. I read that seedling dont need that much light, 1500-2000 foot candle can be plenty and they need to stay a lil bit moist and warm. I'm not sure if this is true but it said they can be given the same amount of sun like a phal for the first year and sometimes 2 years. seedlings are supposed to be more sensitive to light than mature orchids. I'm just letting you know what i read i dont know if this is right but i'm just trying to help =)

Yeah, I was thinking it was because they're getting too much light also. I didn't baby them at all. I deflasked them, kept them inside for about a week, then put them out in my shade house with the rest of my orchids. They turned an ugly muddy green color, but they're growing new roots and leaves like crazy and I've only tossed one plant away! So because of that, I don't really want to move them. They've already started to become less "muddy green"...so I'm sure they'll completely adjust and be a beautiful color sooner or later.

Good job with those. New roots and leaves are a great thing. I say whatever is working for you, its always good to stick with it.

well even if they were getting too much light, they are growing roots and new leaves now so thats good. Just let them be they will get used to the light they are getting and they all seem to be growing really nice. Great job and good luck hopefully you dont lose another one =).

Thank you everyone. I couldn't be happier with my success so far!! If they all live, that's 70+ orchids of the same kind I won't know what to do with though.....although, I'm sure I could find a few homes for them on here....
How long will it take for them to get used to it outside and turn a pretty green again?

Honestly, they might stay a yellow-green or light green. A lot of orchids are in the light green spctrum, and even covered with black spots, when they are getting the proper amount of light. The deep emerald green and forest green we are used to usually means not enough light......at least it has been in my experience....

And if you get 70 babies to pull through, you might have found holiday and birthday gifts for this next year. ;-)

YEp lol or you can sell some or trade them so you can have different kinds of orchids =)

Most of my orchids are a lighter green color. One of them is covered in black spots (they look like freckles). And one is kinda dark....it's a phal in the same place with the rest of them....this one hates me.
The babies are kind of a muted ugly muddy green though. But with how well they're doing, I'm not too worried.
Maybe I could do that "S.T.O.P. Pay it Forward" thing I saw on here. Or trade. Or I don't know.
