I agree with Bruce. Plus the fragrance must be strong which is common with all giganteas.
I wonder why it bloom in this season???
In my country, it bloom in winter and spring, much on February, March

Just to clarify seasons, IT is Winter here now. Heading for 0c or less tonite. As far as I can tell from other growers here, the alba flowers now for us and the red and spotted forms in the Spring/Summer seasons.
It does have great substance and sparkling texture which with my quick pic didn't come thru.
The fragrance is very strong.
