    Cute garter. Depending upon the region, prey items vary -- though I know of none that feed on mammals or avians. Typical foods include earthworms, frogs, and minnows though in some parts of the country they eat slugs. Don't know off the top of my head the diet of the ones in FL

    I did look into what these snakes eat in Florida. Common garter snakes feed on worms, slugs, frogs, toads, salamanders,geckos, and tadpoles. For those who wanted to know. Have Fun,Rich
