I have the same rose growing in my garden and it is really hardy.The only problem is with nocturnal beetles that feed on the leaves but thankfully they are seasonal. I don't know the scientific name for this but I understand it originated from South China and suits the lowland conditions in South-east Asia. So it is no surprise to find it growing all over South-east Asia.There are two colour variations here; the darker pink as shown by Angel and a lighter pink. They are really fragrant.

I am sure it would make a spectacular hedge when in full bloom.
