My mail lady thinks I'm crazy!

Yep, she thinks I am truly crazy. Over the last two weeks I have received a lot of boxes marked "orchids" or "live plants" etc -- you all know what I mean. Our society is preparing for our annual auction and all the vendor donations are coming to me -- so in addition to the plants I am sneaking in under the guise of being "donations", I truly do have bunches of boxes of orchids coming.

Well, today was the kicker. I happened to be home on lunch, but hadn't yet gone to the front door. When the mail lady knocked, I opened the door and couldn't stop laughing. I had a huge flower box from Hawaii delivered by Fed Ex already sitting there, another good sized box of orchids from FedEx, a box with a violin delivered by UPS and a box from amazon.com, and the mail lady had 3 more big boxes full of orchids. It was just too funny! My front porch looked like a shipping depot.

So the mail lady's curiosity had clearly gotten the better of her and she asked to see my greenhouse. So we hauled in all of the boxes and I showed her around. We ended up chatting for 30 minutes or so, and it was really enjoyable. She was a great person -- although I'm pretty sure she still thinks I am crazy! And now, I'll likely get good treatment of my orchid boxes to boot!

That is too funny, Sarah! So, was she an 'orchid person'? Or did you convert her into an orchid person? hehehe.... I would have loved to have seen your face and hers when she askes "So.....?" heheh...

That is so cool!!! I love orchid boxes!!! My mail lady (I guess) was thinking the same about me, but we have a new lady for the past couple of weeks, so... not too many questions yet...lol) Dont you just love getting all those boxes?!

my local post office won't even deliver anymore.. they gave me their ph. number and when i am expecting a plant, i just call them to let them know

ive never mail ordered before because i dont have a job-yet, but im looking ok!just you wait they will start arriving soon
but the courier will probably just throw them at the doorstep, like he does with every other package!

Our mail lady is a male. He is wondering when we are going to have to move out to make more room for the plants. Earlier in the year it was outdoor plants. Now I have to bulk up before winter hits and I shouldn't ship any more. The problem is, I can't use the excuse of being the orchid depot. They are just all for me!!! Love the idea that you are sneaking a few in. I am going to do that this week while my mom in law is away. I am in full shopping mode this weekend.

Orchid Depot? Oh Man what an excuse...how do I get in on that one??? Our annual orchid show/sale is coming up here. I need to do a post about it in a week or two. Maybe i'll have to start being a little more active so I can "help out" storing orchids too. lol

That's so funny! I bet it looked like Christmas on your doorstep. I hope you converted your mail lady. Our mailman personally delivers a box to the door and rings the bell only if a good looking lady lives there. I get my boxes dumped on the porch lol!!!
