This is true Geoff. In my opinion, you like what you like and sometimes judges are looking for such contrived versions of the flowers. I prefer to let my plants just be as they wish. (With help from me for basic care of course.) Even with my phals--I don't stake them until they are perfectly straight. I like to let them ramble on a bit more like they would in nature.
