Some orchids are better in reality than in the digital image, but even more are far more exciting in pictures than they are in real life . Or so I think.
This orchid - bought as an act of charity - i.e. we have a few dealers come to put on displays at my local Orchid Society when we have our twice annual show open to the public, and I try and buy something from each of them - they are supporting us, so we should be supporting them. Although I am usually hard put to , to find things I actually want - which is more to do with my age and experience and the collection I already have. Most of my serious "really want" purchases are from the dealers from far-flung places who come to the major shows - from Taiwan, Malaysia, South America etc...
Whatever ; I bought this plant in spike, earlier this year.In my greenhouse it is a dull thing - maybe the colours are too near the colours of compost and leaves ? The pic makes iyt look much nicer than I think it is . Which is what this rambling message is all about.
But what do you think ?
