Shot of the moon

It was a wonderful clear morning so I tried playing with moon shots at daytime.

Shot with a Nikon D60 with a Sigma 70-300mm DG 1:4-5.6 lens.

funny, i took a similar shot maybe some 12 hours ahead of you from my part of the world.
and the almost full moon 3 days before that.

i hope you dont mind to post it here, for comparison.

attempted to take a photo of the moon countless times but my shaky hands is messing up

you need a tripod randy. the moon is tricky, only on the 3rd night i got this pix, depends so much on the moon/light itself.

Awesome pics ! I was wondering whats with everyone taking moon shots. My room mate took them on the same night, and so did a dozen people around the world, thanks to facebook for letting us know. Its kind of attraction to the moon at this particular time of the year.

Yeah a tripod works wonders.
Also, if your camera has a timer or remote, use that as well. That way, you can take the shot without touching the camera and induce any form of camera shake.
