Warty, weird and wonderful.
The Scaphosepalums are sequential bloomers.
I had seen pictures of the flowers of this species before, but never realized what size the plant is.
It's a real gem, compact and floriferous.

OMG so tiny! I believe that you need a lot of dexterity to grow this orchid. Nevertheless it should be very gratifying to see it bloom.
Unbelievevable the flower even bigger than the leaves, the bloom exactly like alien.Good growing Duane.
Wow, Duane, that is really cool! Nice growing.
Cheers,

*sigh* I've always loved the Scaphs -- they are among my favorite orchids. Had some a while back that did okay for me. Then I moved and they died. One of these days I will try again ...........
Sweet flower, Duane!
I love so many of the pleurothallids. They grow fast, they bloom frequently, and they often have large booms (relative to the foliage). Also, I love how weird so many of them are.
They also lend themselves nicely to "automated" growing. In my particular setup, everyone gets watered every day. It's easier than looking at the water needs of every plant individually!
