Stunning! Mojamoja you have created your own paradise. Congratulations on such a beautiful creation. I bet you can spend hours just walking around in there. Thanks for all the photos!

Default pet or pest? & other stuff

    Mabuhay!

@BD (it can also be short for bluray disc? hehehhee)
thank you so much. Your garden/plant collection and others as well keeps me inspired and sustains my enthusiasm as a gardener. That's why i should be the one to say "thank you" to you and to others as well for all the information and valuable knowledge i acquire from all of the member's plant/orchid experiences.

    On with the show :
This garden snail is so big but i dont want to kill it though i see a number of them in my garden. Sorry mother nature, if i "accidentally" stepped on them. Actually, if i see a centipede or a scorpion or get my face tangled in a spider web in the morning i just let them be except for snakes or poisonous critters that can kill me.

When i bought this at a very cheap price since i had a feeling that they just got this from the forest and as a "conservationist" somehow, i was not really expecting it to live especially when i was so very busy with work and other priorities. This one thrives on neglect. I put it on a high branch of my mango tree and i assure you i can only count how many times i was able to water this fellow. Since then, i put most of my orchids with "chamber like bodies" on places where it will not be disturbed and be watered unintentionally. Though i don't know the name of this baby but it can take the whole branch of my mango tree...hehehehehe. More babies to come....

as you can see, i put my newly purchased orchid again on a high branch of my mango tree. (the one with the long, small flowers)

    my usual blooming orchid

can't wait for summer for this baby to flower in full-force:

Have a Blessed Christmas and a Healthy and Joyful New Year to us all.

moja, that orchid in the 3rd pic is dendrochilum, but dont ask me the sp. name. i have dendrochilum /acoridium tenelum, you should try and get it. it looks like grass and likes warmish conditions. i would say it would like it up there, just dont let it dry out to much.

    Default Happy New Year indeed!

    Mabuhay!

@paph...thank you so much for the compliment.

@kiwiorchids.....thank you so much for the information and for the tips.

    Just another update:

i just bought this orchid...and its a phalaenopsis. it can be found in Leyte, Philippines. Calling on Ron and other experts, would you happen to know this type of phal? i got this for Php100 for 3 pcs or around $2.00 thank you so much in advance for any response.

    OT....

I am loving the jungle look. I just hope that the snake will not go back since there are a number of frogs can be found here.

Just purchased this 2 ferns today :

this one has somehow a serrated edge i bought this for Php100 or around $2.00 (not the small one with the accordion type leaves)

the seller told me that this type of fern is quite hard to find; referring to the one with only 2 long leaves. I am hoping that they'll thrive.

HAVE A HEALTHY, WEALTHY, HOLY AND BLESSED NEW YEAR TO ALL. GODBLESS
