Nobile dendrobes are so gorgeous. Been admiring them since the early 60s . Pity we can't grow them here in the lowlands.

No - you must have the possibility of a temperature drop - it is not necessary to go mad, like some of my orchid friends in Scotland who tell me the temperature in the garden has been down to minus 15 C, so that they have brought all the orchids into the house, to take over the sitting room... but I expect they will be complaining that in the house it was too warm, and their dendrobe's haven't flowered. This is known as " you can't win"....

However, since we have been told that world energy prices are on the up and up, and our gas ( for heating the house and greenhouse) price is to go up by 15% as from tomorrow , I think I'd settle for not being able to grow nobile dendrobes and no gas bill, if I did have the choice.
