Hi,Halloamey you are very rigth: I am a beginner in orchids. And what I really like of that plants is to look at the germination of their small seeds and the growing of the seedlings. Incredivel, but concerning the flowers I am an enthusiastic of annuals. I have germinated with success several genus of orchids and at present I have seedlings. I have reading several tecnichal papers about assimbiotic orchid seed germination and Aaron Hicks manual. I have been trying to obtain at least a copy of the AOS bulletin 62, with the basics results obtained by Murashige, but it has been a little bit difficult to get it.
