Multifloral paph needs attention

What should I do first? This was gifted to me by a departing coworker. I don't know what variety it is, but it's been about 8 - 10 years since it last bloomed. It's since been in a basement with marginal fluoro lighting, over-watered including sitting in standing water and re-potted once. I fear I'm going to find rotted roots. It looks like it's tried repeatedly to start roots all the way up the fan, but the nubs never went anywhere.

So, should I just separate and re-pot these two paphs? What type of support should I be providing for the tall fans?

I'll happily take any advice. I'm a bit more familiar with the smaller paphs, and have good luck with those. This is my first multi, and I'd sure like to turn it around.

Oh that poor orchid... First, lets repot this guy. It is way overpotted for its size. It should be repotted in a smaller container with a free draining bark mix. Be sure to put some styrofoam peanuts or some such in the bottom of the pot to have an 'air space' to allow for complete draining.

I suspect when you unpot this orchid,you will find many damaged/rotted roots. If they are smushy, just remove them. Leave any that feel okay no matter the color. I am guessing since this orchid has not had the proper light, the root coloring will be mostly dark brown and not the light brown/grey brown that it should have.

Once repotted, move this orchid into brighter light - slowly. Do not give it a huge shift right away. It will need some time to adjust. To support those floppy leaves, use a bamboo stake and tie the orchid up.
