Black, blacker, blackest Orchid Fredclarkeara After Dark
Its in the catasetiniae of cours - Fka ( abbreviation) is Mormodia x Catasetum, and I think Mormodia is Mormodes x Clowesia (?)

Orchid flowers perhaps not at their best - I had been watching them, and wondering if they were going to open further, for a month, then went away, and came back two weeks later and the first to open is going over.
First flowering here ; you can see the bulb on it when I bought it at the European Congress in September 09 , my bulb is twice as big, but I'm sure that if I can keep growing it well it can double again. These catasetum types are very generous with flowers I find.
Its in a 4 inch pot which gives an indication fo the size of flowers.
