It has been a long wait for me to see these buds (the spike started in august last year). Maybe it has to do with the temperature (the plant was kept at maximum 60° F). But finally the buds started to open.

Pictures taken today (the previous ones were taken yesterday).
love the beautiful pattern inside this orchid bloom!
Cheers,

I agree with BD - the pattern is fantastic. The deep maroon pops nicely against the pastel petals and yellow interior. Congrats on a successful bloom!
Thank you. It's really worth the wait. I love it!
Dear Gabi, when cyms finally bloom out for you they are so rewarding! Congratulations! I hope you are able to really enjoy the fruits of your labor!

I took some photos last night and I wanted to share with you. The flowers are slightly fragrant, a sweet fragrance, but I don't know with what to compare it.
did you just unbend paper clips for support for that? the plant is beautiful and that is a great idea!
Yes Aja, those are unbended paper clips. The spike has grown too far from the pot and I had to improvise something, so it wouldn't break (the small ladder and paper clips).
