NEED Orchid HELP!

I have always loved orchids but was alway scared to get one because i was told they are very hard to grow. My mom bought one for me --- but it did not come with the tag on how to care for it. I went online and looked up many articles on caring for orchids. I have done everything that it has said but all the bloomes has fallen off and the leaves has turned yellow and are falling off. Have i killed it or is there something i can do to save it? Please,any advice would be helpful. Thank-you

It would help if we know what type of orchid you have. Please post a picture of your plant so that we can ID it. Don't believe what people tell you about orchids being difficult to grow.Nothing is further from the truth. It's just that different types of orchids have different cultural requirements.

And as beginners (which I basically am) we usually kill our first orchids with too much care. I have learned that a little neglect can be a good thing. Welcome aboard and even if this one is on its way to heaven stick with this group and the next one will make it.

I still remember when the first time I asked my father to buy dendrobium biggibum hybrids initially they grow very well than slowly the leaves drop off and finally the pseudobulb become yellow and gone forever I don't know why? than I begin to take care wild den crumenatum and study the character and behavior at the same time read some books to get more information as well as asked senior persons than finally I succeeded, you don't worry no body is perfect here our forum they are very nice and willing to help you.Zain

yeap, totally agreed with Yew Sung, post a pic, the plant root and etc, perhaps can still be saved. and couldn't agree more with Jonada, i killed my first catasetum, giving it too much water though its entering the dormant phase and eventually ended up with rotten bulbs. i am still a beginner and still learning, mistakes are unavoidable but most important is that is that we learn from it.
with blood falling and leaves turning yellow, my guesses are the roots are rotting. looking forward for your pic

Totally agree with everything said..do upload a pic so that the combined experience and knowledge of the "hive" may ponder over it! Dont worry too much..worst thing that could happen is that it dies and if that happens..buy another one!
