My Dend. Classic Gem x Dend. enobi stripe "Purple Splash". The pot is 2 1/2 inches in diam. Dend. is 9 inches tall. Should this be potted up, or do dendrobiums like to be crowded into a small pot?

well my dendrobs have an annoying habit of attaching themselves to any pot, be it plastic or terracotta. i would leave it untill the pot (if its plastic) feels like its about to burst when squeezed gently. otherwise, wait for a mass of roots to pop out the bottom (if its terracotta), thats my gauges![]()
Hi Annette,
Your photo did not attach correctly. Can you upload it again? Just reply to this thread and I can merge the photo to the first post.

Here it is Bruce, thanks.
Rosie, I would give it another year in the current pot as Dens like to be under potted rather than over potted.
Remember to ease off on watering during winter or you run the risk of rotting the 'eye' that will be next year's growth.
Scrubber
yes, i would agree, it has a way to go yet until it is due for a repot
cute little thing too! plese PM me the name!![]()
Looks good Annette, I would follow Scrubber's advice and let it grow a bit longer in the pot that it is in. Looks healthy.

Thanks Scrubber, that's what I thought. Because the chid is getting quite big for the pot, I have placed the pot and all in a clay pot with lots of holes. I was worried about it falling over.
Thanks Bruce for your guidance and help. AH
