Saturday was Flea Market Day! This one was in a 6" pot, the roots were growing out of this pot big time. When I took a look at the roots. Many of the older roots inside the bottom were bad. So I cleaned her up and divided her into three divisions. The bloom was way pasted its prime. But there is another spike in bud and another new growth on one of the other divisions. I'm not concerned about the chance that the buds will fail, I just want to have a healthly plant that will grow long term. Take Care,Rich

Rich I think the week is a bit differently oraganised in your city, I see too many saturdays and saturday purchases LOL !!! Wonderful blooms on these minis, I hope they open up more.

The flower looks almost like a Cattleya walkeriana. No wonder with this parents.
I like to have one in order to make new alba hybrids.

It doesn't matter how bad a plant (roots) looks. Personally I never transplant and divide a plant at this growing stage. I always wait for the plant to start a new growing cycle. Specially C. walkeriana is sensitive to any changes of environment.
In nature they have a 6 month resting period. During this period they don't want to be touched. Good luck!

Nice husky divisions- they look really good in the baskets! You can never have too many pretty white catts!!
