    Default Dendrobium loddigesii

    D. loddigesii occurs in Laos, southern China and Hong Kong. Plants are usually found at 1000-1500m but has been reported growing as low as 400m.

    This species is best grown mounted under intermediate conditions. Heavy watering and fertilizing during the growing period and a cool dry bright rest during the winter is needed to produce spring flowers. The fragrant flowers are about 5cm across.

    Nice blooms! How long of a dry rest do you give yours? Do you water it at all during that time?

    What a beautiful display - those colors against the green are striking. Well grown. I have somthing to look forward to when my little seedling grows up.

    Thanks guys!

    Angie / Mazlan - No water at all for two to three months and I keep the plant in a very bright position. The temperature occasionally drops to 5-7ºC during night. The cooler the temperatures, the less water is required.
