This is one of the things which came in my parcel of Phillipines orchids this week - which I posted about ( but had no answers...).
But two or three times a day ? Not so easy . Well, very easy actually, the days I am home and in the garden/ greenhouse I'm in and out all day , but that is not every day.... I do still ( just) have a life apart from my orchids - like tomorrow I am taking a friend for a walk on the far side of the County - its a walk I am due to lead in my club later in the month,up and down the 2nd highest hill in the county and the friend badly wants to do it but is going into hospital for an operation the day before the official walk, so I said I'd do it as another recce' with her -but I have a 90 minute drive to the start, and 10 miles to do on the walk, with about a thousand feet of climbing - and when ourm combined ages add up to 160 , thats a full day... so I guess the plant may not get watered at all tomorrow.....
I knew it would be difficult, as I said in my other post ( entitled " A ittle bit of help..." )

I am surprised it is not a cork stick, Jojo. If you ever find the name of the wood, do let us know. It is a very atractive piece of wood.

For the watering---under my condition, I only water mine(on hardwood mount with very little moss) once every other day.

It's really hot and dry these days in Manila that's the reason for the very frequent waterings. During weekdays I water copiously very very early before leaving for work (I wake up at around 4:30 am and leave for work at 6 am). Then when I get home at around 4:30-5:00 pm then I do another watering but not copiously. During weekends that's when I get the luxury of watering 2-3 times a day. Last week was easter/spring break so I was home most of the time and tending to my plants among other things (like tending to the aquarium, giving my dog a bath, cleaning house, doing the laundry .... Hehehe ...)

These are fantastic - so tiny and so vibrant! I'm really interested to hear how often you water. I do that with many of mine, especially the mounted ones. They get a good watering at least twice a day and are DRY before the next one. I have worried that it is an exercise in futility, but I have renewed hope again. Thank you for the picture and the reassurance.

I water as the need arises. These past months beginning sometime in May, the weather here has been extremely warm and it is getting hotter now. The air feels dry, the wind if any, feels really warm too. So I instinctively have to water since I don't want the plants to get heat burns and shrivel specially that the potting media feels bone dry and crisp. Perhaps when the rains start and the weather cools down I will reduce watering.

I am just guessing that since you are in Arizona, the weather might be dry out there but again I'm just guessing and I've seen in the NBC and ABC news podcasts downloaded daily on my iphone that the weather in the U.S. has really been going haywire and very unnatural so I could be wrong.

The part of Arizona I call home is really hot and dry. We're already nearing 100 degrees F (@35 C) and our humidity hovers around the 7% to 15% this time of year. We don't anticipate any rain for the foreseeable future. Even though I have air condition in our house, it still dries out the orchids quickly. I have them sitting on humidity trays that empty out quickly, and we water them a couple times each day and also mist them throughout the day.

As I repot, I'm putting sphagnum moss into the medium, and that helps a little.

Jojo, what about light. I'm keeping my plants quite in the shadow. They are growing well, but no flowers so far.
