Here is another one...enc. bractescens in bloom. It, too is fragrant. Betty
Betty, what a cheery picture! I have one little encyclia (so far), a Ginger Snap that just opened one solitary flower. It's so pretty, but we haven't noticed any fragrance yet. Maybe next time we'll get a few more buds and some fragrance. I've only had the plant a couple months, so I'm not complaining!!

Thanks, Bruce! Betty :-)
Great looking orchids, Betty. I bet it is lovely to take in the beauty of the blooms and their wonderful fragrance. Thanks for sharing these with us.
Cheers,

Patty, I find that the sweet smell is the strongest at mid-afternoon. Of course, all of them blend together, including the Sharry Baby which is also blooming. But, as far as I'm concerned, ANY encyclia is a good encyclia! Please post a pic. of your Ginger Snap when it blooms! Betty :-)
Aah - mid afternoon... right while I'm 25 miles away at work - no wonder I can't smell it!!! Maybe this weekend, I hope! My Sharry Baby has been delighting me in the afternoons when I'm home. And my husband, bless his little pea-pickin' heart!, loves to tell me how much he enjoys the Sharry Baby fragrance when he strolls through the house...![]()
Beautiful !!! Such nice colors, wish that I could smell them
gorgeous!! what does the Mabel Kanda smell like? I've got a juvenile one that I am anxiously waiting on hehe

Hard to describe, Ali, a mix of vanilla/citrus/chocolate perhaps. This plant is a FAST grower, with a sweet fragrance...Betty :-)
