This is the first time blooming for this plant. 1 spike with 3 blooms/buds. I was surprised to see a spike, as it seems to me to have done very little growth-wise this past year...maybe it was saving its energy.

Mine spikes before it gets the leaves completely grown. You will love it, once these start blooming they keep on going and going. Does yours have a nice fragrance?
wao!!! no words on how pretty it is!!!BEAUTIFUL.
i want one of these!!! i love the purple and green!!
Congratulations on the bloom. Connie is right--you will love this plant and the frequency of bloom. I get bloom 3 times a year and as Connie stated the new growth is usually still growing.
Thanks all; I do think I am going to love this chid.
Q for Connie & Bill (and anyone who has grown it a while), do you use a basic catt-type media mix? When I got this, I used a smaller, more water retentive mix, and while the plant seems OK with it, I keep getting a bit of fuzz on the media surface, despite fungicide, so I am thinking I have to repot soon...
I love the color Kathi. What a pretty orchid bloom and great color.
Cheers,

those Bolleas and Zygos make a great combo Kathi. Are they easy to grow like the Zygos?
Beautiful. Just love the colour.
Awesome, I didn't know about this group of hybrids, always something new to learn here.
