Very beautiful Remo. Miltoniopsis is a genus that comes from Colombia compared to Miltonias that come from Brazil. Miltoniopsis is a cooler grower as opposed to Miltonias that require a bit more warmth. Both genera have been hybridized extensively and there are also some intergenerics and some Miltonia x Miltoniopsis hybrids. The orchid shown here seems to be a Miltoniopsis hybrid, I'm not sure whether it has been crossed with a miltonia. I hope that this little note helps.
Remo I like the pattern on the labellum so pretty and neat like butterfly wing.
Remo, its me again I had to come back (on computer this time) and get the name of this orchid so I could add it to my wish list!
P.S. It's just as stunning the second time! Happy Blooming!
Beautiful! Another to add to the list![]()
Remo, that really is beautiful.
I just picked up a pitiful-looking Milt. on a clearance table at a big box store on Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed! What I noticed, though, was that the plant (no flowers on it) itself is very fragrant. It smells like frankincense. (Maybe that's just a clue that I'd better really pray for this baby!)
Do any other orchid plants smell nice - not the flowers, but just the plant?
