NOID Den

Here is my NOID den that I just picked up (I alreay e-mailed the nursery that it came from in Delray, FL...they don't have a clue). So, I was wondering, if by chance...and I understand that is a big IF...would someone be possible able to ID?

If not, then at least I get to show off my Den. And appologies for the crappy pic...my digital camera crapped out on me, my Bronica is out of film (and I am shooting a wedding this weekend...hmm...need to go get film), so I had to use my webcam for a snap shot.

I don't know diddly about dends,
the only thing I can do is narrow it down a little,
and say it appears to be a "phal-type" dend,
(because the flowers don't appear to be along the cane,
just out the top)
and that means you don't neeed to mess with the winter rest
as you would if it were a "nobile-type".

Well, that's cool to know...about the winter rest. Actually, the 'chids I seem to have the most trouble with are my dends. The other dend I have (which has SHORT canes, and the flowers do appear along the cane) has not bloomed in three years. It just likes to throw out keikeis. The plant is healthy (as long as I don't give it too much light). At one point the plant was stressed (the leaves turned deep purple and turned kind of leathery...I fugured from too much light, not enough water) those leaves have turned non-leathery though there is still a hint of purple. I have it now in my orchids\ growing area so I am hoping that a more stabile environment will encourage it to bloom...so I am crossing my fingers for next spring.
