This is a beautiful orchid.
When I see a beautiful orchids I always check the genealogy in order to find out why it is beautiful and to find out which species are involved.

This orchid was a big surprise for me. I never did check an orchid with a more complex genealogy than this Rlc. Cloud's Creek.

It has approximately 170 ancestors. The main contributing species are
C. dowiana 72 times
C. bicolor 19 times
C. warscewiczii 17 times
C. tenebrosa 14 times
Rl. digbyana 10 times
C. cinnabarina 07 times
Further are another 16 species involved with minor occurrence in between 1 and 3 times.
An other big surprise was the 72 times occurrence of C. dowiana.
I can't see traces of C. dowiana in this flower. Or do I miss something?
Neither can I see traces of C. bicolor, C. tenebrosa, C. cinnabarina, C. warscewiczii.
I can see the influence of Rl. digbyana in the ruffled lip.
Does anybody have an explanation?
