These are amazing! They look like butterfly wings - and the fuzziness in the center is darling! I would say this has to go on my list, but it looks like it's a cool one - right?

Thank you for sharing such amazing photographs of these lovely flowers.

I f you look closely, the column cap looks like two bulging eyes, then the space underneath it looks like a wide comical grin, then the furry hairs look like rockstar hair!

    Thank you!

Patty - Telipogons are found in high elevation cloud forests and must be grown cool, 10-18 (20)ºC. The relative humidity in these regions are near 100%. Telipogons are difficult to maintain in cultivation without proper arrangements. Currently I'm growing 15 species, all grown very close to the hydrofogger.

Telipogon campoverdei, Peru - cloud forest around 3000m:

Thomas I will first say what stunning patterns and colors these flowers possess. Whether a close up shot or a photo taken at some distance the effect is still the same...........like WOW. I also am impressed with the conditions you know to and do provide these precious orchids. I would assume that some of these are rare in their natural environment, let alone cultivation. Someday I hope to specialize in Telipogon's, but until then your photographs are a pleasure to see. AL

Thomas, both of these are really unusual and lovely! I can only imagine what your orchid collection must look like with so many stunning plants and blooms. Nice growing!

    Cheers,

Oh that is precious! Too bad I'd never be able to provide it with the necessary conditions. Excellant pics, Thomas!
