Flowering for perhaps the second or third year, and now starting to get somewhere. The spike will branch ( c an be seen on a different pic, and continue growing . At this stage may end up having had 6 or 8 flowers ; later, older, bigger, stronger, double that. With wonderful culture ( e.g. as at the Eric Young Foundation where this was bred,you can have a lot of flowers ipen all at once. With culture at more usual amateur levels, new flowers open and old ones fall off, and there are always a few out. Flowers maybe 4 inch spread, and quite long lasting too. As may be seen I am growing in coco-nut husk chunks, mainly ; they do well in rock wool cubes, buit I have not mastered that technique. may try , one day...
