Species Phal from the Philippines (No ID)

Thanks Yew Sung. There are already several possible IDs from other members following your post. I don't know much about phals, and I've never had much interest in them. This one just happens to be in my garden because its kind has been with my family since my grandma's time. But I do find this one charming. I like it better than the more rounded forms of the modern hybrids.

P. amabilis perhaps? although the blooms of this i have seen are more full, there is surely variation from plant to plant. Or maybe a varient of P. sanderiana

I would say intermedia also. It does occur as a natural hybrid.

Thank you Matt. I was focusing on the flowers and since the spikes are quite long, the pendant blooms are far from the leaves. Will take a picture of the leaves and roots, although most of the roots are covered in coconut husk.
In the last photo, I somehow managed to include some of the leaves in the upper left corner of the picture.

Thanks San. Will check out the Phal. intermedia, as the other members also seem to agree with you. As I said, this is my only phal, as almost all of my orchids are vandas and its tribes, and some dendrobiums.

Thank you Andrew. With all the help I got from you guys, I won't be needing that much luck with this one's ID. I have an encyclopedia on orchids but there's no photo of this one in it. Quite a number of phals native to the Philippines are listed and described but not all of them have pictures.

Yes Patty, they are beautiful, especially the way they move with the breeze. The phals are attached to big shrubs growing in front of my house.
